Fairlawn opened in 1964 through the vision and generous support of 11 area Mennonite churches. Under the guidance of a board of trustees, Fairlawn continues to thrive and serve our region.
Our beautiful and accessible campus offers a full continuum of care options. With 153 independent living duplexes and apartments, a health & wellness center, 24 assisted living rooms, and a 99-bed health care facility that includes memory care, short-term rehab services, and long-term care, you are sure to find the right option to fit your needs both today and in the future.

Introducing the Fairlawn Board of Trustees
Dexter Krueger
Dexter is a lifelong Archbold resident and serves as the Village Engineer for Archbold. He is a graduate of Archbold High School and Trine University, where he earned his bachelor's degree in civil engineering. Dexter is a registered Professional Engineer and Professional Land Surveyor in the state of Ohio. Dexter is an active member of St. Peter Catholic Church, where he serves on the Finance and Maintenance Committees. He also serves as treasurer of the Archbold Knights of Columbus and is a member of the Archbold Rotary Club. Dexter and his wife, Melissa, have five children: Anna, Zachary, Noah, Ruby, and Leah. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and giving back to the community as a football and swimming official.

Joy Kauzlick
Joy is a registered nurse at the University of Toledo Medical Center, where she has been employed for the past 42 years. She attends Peace Mennonite Fellowship and enjoys helping with the worship team. Joy is a graduate of Archbold High School, Hesston College, and Goshen College. She and her husband reside in Archbold, and they have two adult children and three grandchildren.

Andrew Emch
Andrew is a lifelong Archbold resident and a graduate of The Ohio State University, where he earned his bachelor's, master's, and Doctor of Optometry degrees. He also completed a residency at the University of California, Berkeley School of Optometry. Since 2014, Andrew and his wife, Dr. Laura Emch, have owned and operated Archbold Eye Care, continuing the practice founded by his father, Dr. John Emch, in 1976. He is a member of the American Optometric Association, a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, and a member of Archbold United Methodist Church. Andrew and Laura have two children, Clara and James. Outside of work, he enjoys coaching youth sports, skiing, jogging, and playing tennis.

Darlene Steiner
Darlene grew up in Delta and now resides in rural Wauseon. She is a graduate of Delta High School and earned a Bachelor of Science in Business from The University of Toledo. After a successful 35-year career as a State Farm Agent in Napoleon, Darlene retired in 2025. She remains active in the community as a member of the Napoleon Rotary Club, where she is a Paul Harris Fellow, and serves on the Board of Camp Selah, a Christian camp in Reading, Michigan. Darlene and her family attend St. John's Christian Church in Archbold. She is the proud mother of two adult sons and grandmother to three grandchildren.

Cindy Rose
Cindy is a graduate of Archbold High School and received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from The Ohio State University. During her 31-year career as a public health nurse, she worked with other agencies to address issues facing the mature adults of Fulton County. At Archbold United Methodist Church, she is actively involved in a variety of roles. She and her husband, Bill, reside in Archbold.

Lori Frey
Lori works as an accountant for Financial Express, Toledo. She is a member of North Clinton Church and serves in the children's singing department and on stewardship. Lori is married to her husband, Marlin, and they spend their free time serving with ministry opportunities at Nascar events, outreach through our church, and Northwest Ohio Emmaus. Lori enjoys reading, instructing and participating in classes at the fitness center in Wauseon, and spending time with family at Cedar Point, ballgames, the zoo, splash pads, and parks.

Phil Nofziger
Phil grew up in the Pettisville area and continues to call the community home. He is a graduate of Pettisville High School and Northwest State Community College. Phil has built a long and rewarding career with Sauder Woodworking. He is also a lifelong member of Zion Mennonite Church, where he has served in a variety of leadership roles, including multiple terms as a trustee. Committed to serving his community, Phil coached youth travel league soccer for more than 10 years and served on the Archbold Area Local School District Board of Education for 14 years. Phil and his wife, Lisa (Wise), have three adult children and are proud grandparents to five grandchildren.

Tom Warner
Tom serves as vice president of the Fairlawn Board of Trustees. He has held several roles during his 41-year career at Sauder Woodworking, including product engineering manager, new market development, and director of operations for the Sauder Funeral Products Division. Tom is a member of Archbold Evangelical Church, having served as a junior high youth sponsor and on the trustee board. He is a graduate of Archbold High School and Northwest Community College and holds a degree in Civil Construction Engineering. Tom and his wife, Kristi, reside in rural Archbold, and they have two adult children and two grandchildren.

Lonnie Rufenacht
Lonnie serves as chairperson of the Fairlawn Board of Trustees. He has worked at Archbold Container (a division of Green Bay Packaging) for 32 years, serving in various roles including computer programmer, accountant, production scheduler, and controller. Lonnie is a member of Crossroads Evangelical Church, where he is active with the worship ministry in sound. A lifelong member of the area, he is a graduate of Pettisville High School and Northwest State Community College. Lonnie and his wife, Barb, reside in rural Wauseon, and they have three adult children and five grandchildren.

Brent Ringenberg
Brent is a CPA and has been the financial controller at Haas Door Company in Wauseon, Ohio since 2015, after working 16 years in public accounting in Indianapolis and Maumee, Ohio. Brent and his wife, Karla, live in Wauseon with their three sons. Outside of work, Brent is the treasurer and a youth mentor at Central Mennonite Church. In his free time, he enjoys watching various sports, especially those played by his sons.
