How do I know my loved one is appropriate for long-term care?
Long-term care is often appropriate when your loved one needs ongoing, hands-on help with daily activities affected by a chronic condition or illness. Caregiving may include support with bathing, dressing, eating, medication management, and mobility. Warning signs can be frequent falls, worsening memory or confusion, missed medications, poor nutrition, or caregiver burnout. If you’re noticing these changes, our team can help by assessing your loved one’s needs and recommending the right level of care.
Who owns Fairlawn Retirement Community?
Fairlawn Retirement Community is a faith-based, not-for-profit community that is privately and locally operated. Fairlawn offers a full continuum of care with roots that run deep in connection, purpose, compassion, and unity. Our community opened in 1964 through the vision and generous support of 11 area Mennonite churches. Under the guidance of a board of trustees, Fairlawn continues to thrive and serve our region.
Are area churches still involved in Fairlawn’s operations?

Does Fairlawn accept Medicaid?
Yes, Fairlawn is accredited by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) and licensed through the Ohio Department of Health. Yes! We are seeking volunteers to help with a wide range of activities, events, and projects.
